Fabian is pursuing his Ph.D. in the Intelligent Control Systems Group at the Institute for Dynamic Systems and Control. His research interests lie at the intersection of Control Theory and Machine Learning. In particular, he aims to develop learning-based control techniques for systems under uncertainties and safety constraints. In collaboration with the Product Development Group Zurich, he translates the advancements of theoretical research into impactful applications such as biomedical devices.
Prior to joining ETH, Fabian received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. with distinction in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from RWTH Aachen University. During his studies, he was a scholar of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and spent one year each at Yale University in the USA as well as Tsinghua University in China. Moreover, he gained hands-on experience working for various companies and institutions, among others the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence, Audi China R&D and the Helmholtz Institute for Biomedical Engineering.
